Complete with peeing

Liquid you is completed with a recording of my own self peeing that I made as a sound effect for “Even Steven”. Public peeing is many a man’s best friend. This fellow however has always had a problem peeing around anyone. I like the joke it plays on me and the falling water theme. I also like that it is the water that falls from within us.

What is here is hardly a manly pee. Does anyone remember the moment in the book “Jaws” when Ellen Brody is lying in bed listening to her husband Martin take the first piss of the day? That was a manly pee and this one is nothing like that. Matt Harris used to say that he could pee forever when he was high. The next time I peed high I knew exactly what he meant. He also said:

“I just become more me when I’m high.”

Matt, when I knew him, was a really funny guy. He was also a song writer who wrote songs on a Casio with chords that it seemed he had created. I liked Matt’s music. It seemed like music that he owned. I learned a lot from Matt.

Jobsite

Q: What is the most important part of building a house?

I am building a second house. I am interested in where I am and have stopped most of the comparisons to where I was. It is one thing to remember your past and still another to objectify that past with sentimentality. Even the movie seems like it was years ago. While talking to my wife I realized that it is very seldom now that I will be driving in the van and arrive at my destination with that feeling of “How did I get here?” I drive nails and enjoy working with the tools in my hand. I want to build songs like houses. I want both lives and I am as free to have them as I will allow myself to be.

A: The part you are presently working on.

Liar!

Did you ever feel like falling water?

Ok, so as usual, I lied. “Falling water” will be the two word title of the last song on this album. Now that everything is written I can clearly see this is a guy album. Not for guys necessarily but about guys and for the guys who are interested in hearing songs about themselves. The trench coat happened again just this last week. I like guys but sometimes they take it too far. I oughta know.

Quote

“The realm of myth leaves plenty of space for apocalypse and nightmare, especially when reality begins to function on the level of the fantastic.”

Writingsong

8:28 PM

Do you ever feel like falling water,
bouncing off the hand you’re cleansing,
falling once again and rolling gently down the drain?

Have you ever heard of brawny new round
bilge lap strake sea skiffs a sailing?
1957 ‘s tailing Myrna loy in hornblow heaven.
No? You haven’t? that’s a shame.

Hey, you haven’t heard one single word I’ve said.

Hey, I’ll have to hand it to myself instead.

It’s 1898 you’re curled up in ball
Inside a barrel toward the falls
you bob in peril
feel the roar and pray its thunderous…
Show the whore you’re someone she will miss…
Death to thee will be thy counter diss…

The afterlife is perfect for a tryst.

Liquid You

Do you ever feel like falling water?

Each song on this album has a one word title taken from the sentence above.

The single words, the sentence and the albums title represent the mutable and flowing substance of attached meaning.

Song 82 "feel"

Liquid You – Track 4

Things got a little twisted for me this month. I walked around a good part of the first two weeks with the feeling that I needed and wanted to cry. That feeling made its way into this song. I was thinking about sobbing and I pressed record in an attempt to capture the sound of sobbing. I took the first thing I got and put it into the song I rationalized that the song was called “Feel” and so emoting was appropriate. This whole album seems to be devoted to such big feelings and how, if not properly handled, they can spiral out of control.

The precarious energies of persons living and dead played out with poignant passion and spectacular alacrity.

Release: “Feel
